* Teach real young children how to subtract through adding.
For example: 5 – 3. Tell them they are on 3 already, & count to 5. When they get to 5, ask them what did they need to get to 5. Tell them it is OK to use their fingers starting out. Give them another one: 7 – 2. Tell them they are at 2. Count on from there. When they get to 7, ask them how many fingers to get to 7. They will get faster the more you practice with them. Much faster counting forwards than backwards.
* Teach your Children Whole, Fractions & Geometry by Revealing, they are the same thing with a Different Name. The tools for this technique…Circle, Dollar Bill & Pennies.
Circle (Whole)—>> 360 degrees=$1 bill (Whole) =100 pennies (Whole)
1/2 Circle—>> Diameter
(180 degrees)=1/2 Dollar=50 cents/pennies….half is half…it does not matter if it is Geometry or Arithmetic. Geometric Term for half of Circle is Diameter. Arithmetic Term for half of $1 is 50 Cents. In others words, same game with another name. Don’t get confused with labels. Just learn the label names for the type of math you are doing.
1/4 Circle=90 degrees
(Right Angle)=1/4 Dollar=25 cents.
